Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jonas Matthews and Kavan Coffel Lead True North to Victory

After losing to Spring Baptist Academy the last time they met, True North decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The True North Knights walked away with a 42-32 win over the Spring Baptist Academy Royals on Thursday.

True North was led to victory by Kavan Coffel and Jonas Matthews. Coffel posted 21 points, while Matthews had 16 points. The dominant performance gave Matthews a new career-high in points.

Several Royals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaxton Doelitsch, who scored 13 points in addition to seven steals and six rebounds. Doelitsch has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Timmy Wright, who earned no points along with seven boards and five steals.

True North's record now sits at 2-6. As for Spring Baptist Academy, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.

True North wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 47-46 victory against Faith Christian on the 11th. As for Spring Baptist Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-28 win against Still Creek Christian on the 11th.
