Canyon Lake took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Somerset a 2-0 shutout.

Diego Fuentes and Jordan Bierbaum scored both of Canyon Lake's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, San Antonio Christian was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Saint Mary's Hall who was credited with the win. Saint Mary's Hall got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to San Antonio Christian's two.

Canyon Lake has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those five contests. As for San Antonio Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 11-3-1.
