Cross has gone a perfect 5-0 against Coastal HomeSchool recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Cross' favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Coastal HomeSchool has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road.
On Wednesday, Cross was able to grind out a solid win over Charleston Collegiate, taking the game 3-1.
Cross had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-17.
Coastal HomeSchool not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 9th (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on Bible Baptist Christian with a sharp 3-0 victory.
The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-4, 25-19.
Cross better keep an eye on Madi Murphy. She was instrumental in Coastal HomeSchool's win, getting nine aces and five assists. Those nine aces gave Murphy a new career-high.
Coastal HomeSchool was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 35 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive matches.
Coastal HomeSchool's win bumped their record up to 8-19. As for Cross, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
Everything went Cross' way against Coastal HomeSchool in their previous matchup back in September, as Cross made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Stingrays repeat their success, or do the Hurricanes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
