Gilbert Christian skates past Horizon with ease

Recap: Gilbert Christian Knights vs. Horizon Huskies

The Gilbert Christian Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 24 points or more this season. They breezed by Horizon on the road to the tune of 80-51. Given Gilbert Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Horizon is ranked 212th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gilbert Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lopemi. Omole, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Keon Talgo, who scored 21 points.

Horizon's loss came despite strong showings from Gavin Henss and Craig Rodgers. Henss scored 12 points, while Rodgers scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Hart, who scored eight points.

Gilbert Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Horizon, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Gilbert Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Verrado at 1:00 p.m. on December 16th. Horizon and Maricopa will face off at 10:00 a.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Maricopa is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
