Basketball Recap: State Line Christian's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

State Line Christian was the 67-43 winner over Barry County Christian when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Patriots lost 78-57 to the Eagles on Friday. The loss put an end to the Patriots' undefeated start to the season.

Despite the loss, State Line Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jackson Baumker shot 63% from the field on his way to 27 points. Baumker's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 22 points. Another player making a difference was Austin Nowak, who posted 11 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, State Line Christian fell to 2-1. As for Barry County Christian, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. State Line Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Faith Christian at 6:15 p.m. on December 5. As for Barry County Christian, they will head out to take on Kalamazoo HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on December 1.
