Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Evangel Christian). They claimed a resounding 80-38 victory over the Wiregrass Kings. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-16.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Evangel Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jonathan Gill, who posted 14 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Gill has posted since back in January of 2024. Ben Bugnar was another key player, putting up eight points along with five assists and five steals.

Evangel Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wiregrass only posted ten assists.

Graysen Ellison and Tucker Duren certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Ellison had 11 points, while Duren earned nine points.

Evangel Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Wiregrass, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 17 of their last 20 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season.

Evangel Christian will be playing at home against Pineview Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Pineview Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Wiregrass, they are taking a road trip to take on Southern Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
