Shelby waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They walked away with an 80-68 victory over the Bessemer City Yellow Jackets. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 72-53 victory two weeks ago.

Shelby's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grady Morgan, who en route to 18 points along with six assists and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Morgan a new career-high in shooting accuracy (55%). Tee Hollifield was another key player, as he made all 6 shots he took racking up 15 points and eight rebounds.

Morgan wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Shelby was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Several Yellow Jackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jonathan Black, who on his way to 20 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Tristen Gordon, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten assists.

Shelby pushed their record up to 17-7 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points over those games. As for Bessemer City, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-11.

Shelby didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-61 win against Burns on the 21st. As for Bessemer City, they have also already played their next game, an 80-32 loss against Corvian Community on the 25th.
