Basketball Recap: Marian Piles Up the Points Against Burke

Marian won the last time they faced Burke and things went their way on Thursday too. The Marian Crusaders simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Burke Bulldogs 67-19. That looming 67-19 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Crusaders yet this season.

Emelia Daubendiek was the offensive standout of the match as she made all 7 shots she took racking up 14 points. Aubrey Thompson was another key player, putting up seven points and 14 rebounds.

Marian was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Marian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points over those games. Burke dropped their record down to 2-21 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.
