Baseball Recap: Tug Valley Triumphs

Tug Valley won the last time they faced Van and things went their way on Thursday too. The Panthers walked away with a 9-5 win over the Bulldogs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Gavin Fitzpatrick was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Gage Whitt was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Tug Valley's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Van, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tug Valley will challenge Ravenswood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Devils have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Van, they are taking a road trip to square off against Wahama at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
