Volleyball Recap: Oak Lawn Spartans vs. Reavis Rams
Oak Lawn lost against Reavis back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Spartans took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
While Oak Lawn had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-21.
Their offense was headlined by Oisin Walsh and Gio Gonzalez, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Danny Casey and his eight assists.
Reavis was led to victory by Skylar O'Neill and Krystian Paluch. O'Neill had 11 digs and two blocks, while Paluch had 16 digs. O'Neill has been hot for a while, having also posted 17 or more assists the last 15 times he's played.
Oak Lawn's loss dropped their record down to 22-10. As for Reavis, the victory (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 27-2.
Oak Lawn wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Tinley Park on the 20th. As for Reavis, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Oak Forest on the 20th.
