Volleyball Recap: Mckenna Rischmann Key Part of Team Effort in Wolves Win

The Mercy McAuley Wolves were able to grind out a solid win over the Purcell Marian Cavaliers on Saturday, taking the game 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Mercy McAuley was: they took both sets by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-7.

Mercy McAuley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from McKenna Rischmann, who had four digs and three aces.

Rischmann wasn't the only good server: Mercy McAuley was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

The victory got Mercy McAuley back to even at 2-2. As for Purcell Marian, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Mercy McAuley will head out to square off against Roger Bacon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Purcell Marian, they will be playing at home against North College Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
