Basketball Game Preview: Fort Calhoun Pioneers vs. Wisner-Pilger Gators

The Fort Calhoun Pioneers will challenge the Wisner-Pilger Gators at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fort Calhoun is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Thursday, Fort Calhoun was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 44-38 to Logan View/Scribner-Snyder.

Despite their defeat, Fort Calhoun saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Anna Mcmahon, who posted 13 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Dehlia Hallberg, who earned 11 points.

Meanwhile, Wisner-Pilger humbled Madison with a 53-26 victory. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 27 points or more this season.

Wisner-Pilger's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Fort Calhoun, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.

Fort Calhoun strolled past Wisner-Pilger in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 52-38. Will Fort Calhoun repeat their success, or does Wisner-Pilger have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
