Basketball Game Preview: Washington Wildcats vs. Harmon Hawks

The Washington Wildcats will face off against the Harmon Hawks on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Last Tuesday, Washington took a blow against Highland Park, falling 58-11. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while the Scots are ranked 145th).

Meanwhile, Harmon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 50-16 defeat at the hands of Wyandotte. The Hawks were down 46-12 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Harmon's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Washington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Washington against Harmon when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 53-16 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Washington since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
