Softball Recap: Red River Takes Down Ranked Fargo Davies

Red River faced Fargo Davies in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Roughriders' pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles a 4-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Roughriders in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.

Jocelyn Berg was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Red River's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-6-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fargo Davies, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
