Basketball Game Preview: Griffith Panthers vs. North Newton Spartans

The Griffith Panthers will face off against the North Newton Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Newton took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Griffith, who comes in off a win.

Griffith will bounce into Saturday's game after beating Lake Station Edison, who they had gone 0-7 against in their seven prior meetings. The Panthers walked away with a 42-35 win over the Fighting Eagles on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Meanwhile, North Newton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 35-30 to Hebron.

North Newton now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Griffith, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Everything went Griffith's way against North Newton when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as Griffith made off with a 39-17 win. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
