Basketball Recap: Sutton Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Sutton was feeling good fresh off their 54-17 takedown of Whitinsville Christian last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sutton Sammies took a 38-22 bruising from the Douglas Tigers on Tuesday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sammies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 34-22 two weeks ago.

Sutton's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5. As for Douglas, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sutton will face off against Nipmuc Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Douglas, they will square off against Blackstone-Millville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Douglas' defense has only allowed 27 points per game this season, so Blackstone-Millville's offense will have their work cut out for them.
