There's no place like home for Allatoona, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 31-29 victory over the South Paulding Spartans on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Buccaneers also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2015.
Xavier Rucker had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 185 yards and three touchdowns. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 125 rushing yards per game. Allatoona also relied on Andrew Ingle, who's 46-yard boot wound up being the difference in the game.
The win got Allatoona back to even at 1-1. As for South Paulding, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
Allatoona will take on River Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Paulding, they will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on North Paulding at 7:30 p.m. on September 6th.
