Basketball Game Preview: Woods Charter Wolves vs. Carolina Friends Quakers

After both having extra time off, the Woods Charter Wolves and the Carolina Friends Quakers will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Woods Charter will head into Friday's game out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune two weeks ago. They came up short against Seaforth, falling 46-24. The contest marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Woods Charter had strong showings from Levi Haygood, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 10 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks, and Bhuvanesh Senthil, who posted seven points and seven boards. Haygood is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played.

Meanwhile, Carolina Friends was not able to break out of their rough patch back in December of 2024 as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 55-45 to Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill. The game was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but the Quakers couldn't quite close it out.

Carolina Friends' defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Woods Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Woods Charter came up short against Carolina Friends in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 47-43. Can Woods Charter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
