Softball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Payton Shively and Lily Phillips Lead Notre Dame Academy to Victory

After losing to University Liggett the last time they met, Notre Dame Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Eagles came out on top against the Knights on Tuesday by a score of 6-5 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Notre Dame Academy let Lily Phillips and Payton Shively run wild. Phillips went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple, while Shively went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Hannah Schultz, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Notre Dame Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for University Liggett, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Notre Dame Academy will challenge Bishop Foley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for University Liggett, they will square off against Grosse Pointe North at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
