Softball Game Preview: El Dorado Cougars vs. Argonaut Mustangs

El Dorado is 0-6 against Argonaut since March of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Cougars will look to defend their home field against the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. El Dorado has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

El Dorado came up short against Union Mine on Tuesday, falling 17-2.

El Dorado saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hazel Polkinghorn, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Argonaut, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They never let Amador get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Tuesday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Buffaloes recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Kendall Baker's shutout, as she gave up just five hits.

At the plate, AJ Schultz was excellent, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one double.

El Dorado's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Argonaut, their win bumped their record up to 13-7.
