Shekinah Christian waltzed into their match on Thursday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Independence 76ers, sneaking past 57-55. Given the Flames' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while the 76ers are ranked 770th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Independence's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Torreon Gordon-Suggs, who posted 14 points. Darren White-Tyler was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Shekinah Christian pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points per game. As for Independence, they are on a 36-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.
