Softball Recap: Brick Memorial Takes a Loss

Brick Memorial fell victim to Lacey Township and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Mustangs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Brick Memorial saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Naples, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Naples' first of the season.

Brick Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Lacey Township, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.

Coming up, Brick Memorial will take on Toms River South at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Lacey Township, they will challenge Manchester Township at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
