Softball Recap: Fort Bend Christian Academy's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lutheran South Academy, Fort Bend Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Second Baptist a 5-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 back in March.

The result came thanks to Reese Heflin's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 17 Ks. Those 17 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Allie Guillot was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Ella Romo, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Fort Bend Christian Academy's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-10-1. As for Second Baptist, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Bend Christian Academy will take on HCYA at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Fort Bend Christian Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: HCYA has averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Second Baptist, they will be playing at home against Lutheran South Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
