Basketball Recap: Springtown Takes a Loss

Springtown won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They came up short against the Decatur Eagles, falling 75-50. While losing is never fun, the Porcupines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 890th, while the Eagles are ranked 193rd).

With the loss, Springtown broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-20. As for Decatur, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 24-7.

Springtown has already played their next contest (against Eagle Mountain), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Decatur will take on Burkburnett at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Burkburnett knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 matches -- so hopefully Decatur likes a good challenge.
