Volleyball Recap: Jackson Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Candley Dengah and Angelina Yousef

Jackson's tournament run continued when they took on Davenport on Saturday. The Timberwolves fell just short of the Gorillas by a score of 2-1.

Despite the loss, Jackson had strong showings from Angelina Yousef, who had 11 assists and four aces, and Candley Dengah, who had eight assists and four aces. Dengah is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Eliana Brewer also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Jackson's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Davenport, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Jackson will head out to challenge Arlington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Timberwolves are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Davenport, they will take on St. George's at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
