Soccer Game Preview: St. Francis vs. Notre Dame (SO)

The St. Francis Golden Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Notre Dame (SO) Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

St. Francis will head out to face Notre Dame (SO) after giving up their first home loss of the season on Wednesday. St. Francis lost 6-1 to Loyola. While losing is never fun, the Golden Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 178th, while the Cubs are ranked ninth).

Meanwhile, Notre Dame (SO) kept a clean sheet against Bishop Alemany on Wednesday. They beat the Warriors by a goal, winning 1-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Notre Dame (SO) is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those eight games. As for St. Francis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4-3.
