Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brookeland). They claimed a resounding 113-9 win over the High Island Cardinals. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 70-5.

Brookeland was led to victory by Landon Smith and Cade Morgan. Smith went 18 of 25 en route to 40 points along with six assists and five steals, while Morgan went 10 for 14 on his way to 27 points in addition to seven boards and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least a third of Brookeland's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zack Beatty, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 16 points and six steals.

Brookeland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 15 consecutive games.

Brookeland has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 85.0 points per game. As for High Island, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

When Brookeland and High Island next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Brookeland will try to stop Shelbyville's seven-game winning streak when the meet at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
