Volleyball Recap: Zion-Benton Comes Up Short

Zion-Benton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rolling Meadows Mustangs.

Ethan Martinez paced Zion-Benton's offense, picking up 12 kills. Martinez got some help from Brayden Young and his 16 assists. Martinez was also solid from the service line: he led the team with seven aces.

Zion-Benton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-21. As for Rolling Meadows, their victory bumped their record up to 7-15.

Zion-Benton has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Rockford East on the 3rd. As for Rolling Meadows, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Leyden on the 3rd.
