Basketball Recap: Antelope Valley Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Gavin Houston and Deshawn Lewis

Antelope Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 56-47 to the Palmdale Falcons. The Antelopes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Antelope Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Deshawn Lewis and Gavin Houston. Lewis went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points, while Houston went 5 for 6 on his way to 13 points. Those 13 points gave Houston a new career-high.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Palmdale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anthony Delouth, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 14 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Thornton, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Antelope Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Palmdale, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-7.

Antelope Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Highland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Palmdale, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 80-56 defeat against Carpinteria on the 14th.
