Softball Game Preview: Southern Wayne Saints vs. Smithfield-Selma Spartans

Southern Wayne is on a nine-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Smithfield-Selma a 16-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Southern Wayne Saints will welcome the Smithfield-Selma Spartans at 6:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Southern Wayne's offense. They came up short against C.B. Aycock on Tuesday, falling 21-0.

Meanwhile, Smithfield-Selma also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 24-0 to Nash Central on Wednesday.

Smithfield-Selma's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Southern Wayne, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.
