Basketball Recap: Carver Gets the Win

Carver won the last time they faced Hapeville Charter and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Carver Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 victory over the Hapeville Charter Hornets. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since December 19, 2024.

Adonis Wimbush continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 9 for 17 en route to 23 points. Jacory Pickett was another key player, putting up ten points.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lyndale Roberts, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds. The match was Roberts' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Christopher Person, who posted nine points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Carver and bumps their season record up to 6-15. As for Hapeville Charter, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carver will host New Faith Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hapeville Charter, they will take on Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
