Basketball Recap: Crossland Comes Up Short

Crossland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 53-28 to the Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South Tigers. If the Cavaliers were looking for revenge after losing 73-43 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Crossland saw an underclassman step up: freshman Zaida Birruete posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ramia Alston, who scored six points.

Crossland's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Crossland nor Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South have any future games scheduled.
