Basketball Recap: North Side Takes a Loss

North Side played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 50-22 loss at the hands of the Wyatt Chaparrals. The Steers have struggled against the Chaparrals recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why North Side lost, don't look at Briana Rodriguez. Despite the final result, she posted ten points.

It was another big night for Cynaa Weathers, who scored 19 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals for Wyatt. That's the most points Weathers has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Mitchell, who went 6 of 12 en route to 12 points and three steals.

North Side's defeat dropped their record down to 4-22. As for Wyatt, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-8.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Paschal the next time they take the court. Wyatt will host Paschal at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while North Side will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th.
