Softball Recap: Carlynton Cougars vs. Cornell Raiders
Carlynton scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Cornell Raiders as the Carlynton Cougars made off with a 21-3 victory. The win was some much needed relief for Carlynton as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
For Cornell's part, Shaylee Barrett and Laila Lee stepped up to the plate in a big way. Barrett went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, while Lee scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Carlynton's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Cornell, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7.
Carlynton will head out on the road to take on Northgate at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cornell, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Sewickley Academy at 3:30 p.m.
