Baseball Recap: Kermit Takes a Loss

Kermit came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Eunice Cardinals, falling 12-2. The Yellow Jackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Kermit saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Rodriguez, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Kermit's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-12. Those road defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Eunice, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kermit will square off against Tornillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Eunice, they will face off against Melrose at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
