Baseball Recap: Mclean County Snags 15th Win in Last 18 Games

McLean County took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Marshall County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cougars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Marshals on Tuesday, sneaking past 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since April 3rd.

McLean County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooks Lynam, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Corbin Martin was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

McLean County has been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Marshall County, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McLean County will face off against Daviess County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marshall County, they will challenge Trigg County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
