Basketball Game Preview: Bellaire Big Reds vs. River Pilots

The Bellaire Big Reds will take on the River Pilots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bellaire is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.2 points per game this season.

Bellaire is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Weir: they outscored them in every quarter. Bellaire took down Weir 49-30 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Big Reds.

Bellaire got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zara Harveth out in front who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten boards. Harveth has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Tamya Morgan was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, River beat Frontier 51-41 on Monday.

River has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.7 points. As for Bellaire, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.

Everything came up roses for Bellaire against River in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 61-34 win. Will Bellaire repeat their success, or does River have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
