Recap: Carver Panthers vs. Pace Academy Knights

If the Carver Panthers were riding high off their 48-23 takedown of the Clarke Central Gladiators on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Carver was outmatched by Pace Academy on the road and fell 58-21. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Carver has scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Carver lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Amiyah Floyd. Despite the final result, she scored ten points. Floyd scored a full 47.6% of Carver's points, the 11th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Carver's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Pace Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carver will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cedar Grove at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. Pace Academy and Woodland will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
