Softball Recap: Cedar Key Comes Up Short

Cedar Key lost against Leesburg back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cedar Key Sharks came up short against the Leesburg Yellow Jackets, falling 17-1. The Sharks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cedar Key's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Leesburg, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar Key will head out to challenge Wildwood at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Wildwood has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.43 runs per game on average), something Cedar Key will no doubt try to take advantage of. Leesburg will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Umatilla at 6:00 p.m. on March 19th.
