Football Recap: Spencer-Van Etten/Candor's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

After flying high against Watkins Glen last Friday, Spencer-Van Etten/Candor came back down to earth. The Eagles took a 36-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Deposit-Hancock on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while Deposit-Hancock are ranked 406th).

Having lost for the first time this season, Spencer-Van Etten/Candor fell to 2-1. As for Deposit-Hancock, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

Spencer-Van Etten/Candor and Deposit-Hancock will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Eagles will face off against rival Greene/Oxford Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Deposit-Hancock is set to square off against their familiar foe Bainbridge-Guilford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
