Flag Football Recap: Portal's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Portal fell victim to Evans and their airtight defense on Monday. They lost 20-0 to the Knights.

Evans' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyleigh Chase, who threw for 16 yards and a pair of touchdowns on perfect 5-for-5 passing, and also rushed for 48 yards. That's the most passing yards Chase has posted since back in December of 2024. Sadie Morningstar was another key receiver, picking up 41 receiving yards and two scores.

Portal's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2. As for Evans, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Portal has already played their next game, a 26-6 victory against Emanuel County Institute on the 28th. As for Evans, they will welcome Effingham County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
