Baseball Recap: Marin Catholic Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Marin Catholic entered their tilt with Branson on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Bulls by a score of 7-2. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 5-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Walker Untermann made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Marin Catholic is 6-1 when Untermann allows three or fewer earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Untermann was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on James Stocker, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Marin Catholic's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-8 when he doesn't). Sebastien Drucker was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run.

Marin Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Branson only posted a batting average of .040.

Marin Catholic's record now sits at 12-8. As for Branson, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.
