Volleyball Recap: St. Maries Lumberjacks vs. Wallace Miners

St. Maries was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Wallace Miners, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Miners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

St. Maries took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-11, 25-14.

Wallace found their leader in sophomore Kayden Stutzke, who had five digs and five aces. Stutzke is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Addison Kunze also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

St. Maries' loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Wallace, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

St. Maries has already played their next game (against Timberlake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Wallace, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Genesis Prep Academy on the 18th.
