Softball Recap: Eastern Hancock Has No Trouble Against Irvington Preparatory Academy

It's playoff time, and Eastern Hancock had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past Irvington Preparatory Academy 12-0 on Tuesday. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Nieko Engleking made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, Eastern Hancock got a big performance out of Brooklynn Headlee, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Addisyn Trackwell, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Eastern Hancock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Eastern Hancock is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Irvington Preparatory Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
