Baseball Recap: Granada Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

Granada owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over the Dublin Gaels. The victory continues a trend for the Matadors in their matchups with the Gaels: they've now won six in a row.

Alex Piscotty tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Adrian Zambrano, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

Granada hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dublin struck out ten times.

Granada's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Dublin, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-6.

Granada will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Gaels: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
