Baseball Recap: Carmi-White County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Eldorado on Tuesday, Carmi-White County came back down to earth. Carmi-White County came up short against Harrisburg on Wednesday, falling 17-1. If Carmi-White County was looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to Harrisburg when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Carmi-White County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Holoman, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Carmi-White County suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 6-9-1. As for Harrisburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season.

Carmi-White County will square off against Eldorado at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Harrisburg, they will face off against Mt. Vernon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
