Baseball Recap: Pleasant Grove Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Pleasant Grove was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They fell just short of the Mountain Ridge Sentinels by a score of 3-2.

Keaton Nordick was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, C.J. Anderson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Pleasant Grove's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pleasant Grove will host Davis at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mountain Ridge, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Fremont at 3:30 p.m. The last three games Mountain Ridge has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
