Walnut waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Atascadero Greyhounds. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by just one run.

Walnut's victory bumped their record up to 10-11-1. As for Atascadero, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Walnut will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Ayala at 3:30 p.m. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Atascadero, they will take on Cabrillo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
