Lincoln Southeast and Lincoln East are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Knights will square off against the Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Lincoln Southeast is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Kearney, who was ranked fourth at the time (Lincoln Southeast was ranked 18th). The Knights took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bearcats on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lincoln East). Everything went their way against Lincoln North Star on Monday as they made off with a 12-0 win. Considering Lincoln East have won seven matches by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Lincoln East and bumps their season record up to 7-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for Lincoln Southeast, they dropped their record down to 5-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Lincoln Southeast came up short against Lincoln East in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
