The Lutheran South Academy Pioneers will be playing in front of their home fans against the San Antonio Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lutheran South Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully San Antonio Christian likes a good challenge.
On Friday, Lutheran South Academy took their matchup with ease, bagging a 42-8 win over KIPP Sunnyside. With the Pioneers ahead 28-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lutheran South Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Holt Teichman, who threw for 126 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 43 yards. Cade Griffin was in the mix as well, providing the Pioneers with two scores.
Lutheran South Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ethan Sauceda and Max Saldana.
Meanwhile, San Antonio Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 41-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Joseph.
Despite the defeat, San Antonio Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ethan Young rushed for 131 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Those 131 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Young. Sloan Guillory was another key signal caller, throwing for 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
While San Antonio Christian came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for St. Joseph: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 44.4%. The team can thank Aaron Edmonds for the heroic effort on defense: he. San Antonio Christian wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 51.9%.
Lutheran South Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.8 points over those games. As for San Antonio Christian, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-4.
